Lu - Lutetium
Atomic Number: 71 Period Number:6 Group Number: None
Lutetium is a silvery-white metal, which is the last element in lanthanide series. There are two isotopes of it: 175Lu and 176Lu. Lutetium is always found in minerals and very hard to separate with other elements.
Lutetium is rare and expensive, so there is less wide use of it. One commercial application has been as a pure beta emitter, using lutetium which has been exposed to neutron activation.
