Doped Tin oxide Nano-dispersion General Info

A light blue or dark colored liquid composed of doped tin oxide nanoparticles dispersed in water, alcohol, oil, or another dispersion medium. Solid particle content of these dispersions can go up to 40%wt, with non-volatile matter ranging from 20-50wt% in most dispersion mediums and typical particle sizes between 30nm and 40nm.

Particularly notable in that it filters a relatively narrow electromagnetic band, even compared to similar products such as antimony tin oxide nanopowder dispersions, making it ideal for infrared shielding without impeding the visible spectrum. Lower cost and similar properties to indium tin oxide nanoparticle dispersions also makes DTO dispersions a promising alternative material as indium supplies dwindle.

Doped Tin oxide Nano-dispersion Application

The unique EM-filtering and conductive properties of this dispersion, combined with its relatively high wear resistance against common sources of deterioration, lend it value in a wide variety of contexts, including but not limited to:

Heat and IR shielding: By filtering out electromagnetic wavelengths in the infrared spectrum but little else, DTO dispersions can be used to great effect in coatings and other shielding applications against hear and other IR interference, without compromising the visible spectrum.

Antistatic: The conductive properties of DTO allow these dispersions to provide excellent anti-static properties as a coating, without significantly changing the appearance of the treated product.

Solar: The combination of electrochemical and optical properties of DTO make it usable in solar applications which would otherwise use indium tin oxide dispersions.

Displays: Certain display technologies which utilize indium tin oxide dispersions may be able to utilize doped tin oxide dispersions to similar affect, at potentially lower expense, expecially as indium tin oxide becomes more limited and cost prohibitive.

Conductors: The electrochemical properties of DTO dispersions make them of potential value in the production of certain conducting materials.
