Copper(Cu) Nanowires Applications:
Appearing generally as a reddish fluid, copper nanowires typically come as wires of diameters less than 100um, suspended in ethanol or another solvent. While the full potential of copper nanowires remains a subject of extensive research, uses in microelectronics, optical technologies, renewable energy, and medicine have already been found. You can obtain nanowires through SSNano in a variety of volumes, diameters, and suspensions; contact us for more information.
  • Optical applications. Nanowires and nanopowders of all sorts have seen extensive usage for their unique optical properties; copper is no exception. These traits make copper nanowires useful in medical imaging, the manufacture of optical limiters, solar energy generation, and myriad other optical technologies.
  • Conductive applications. As one of the most popular conductive metals, it’s no surprise that copper nanowires see consistent usage in any number of modern devices. The high-intensity LEDs used for tools and on cars, the ubiquitous touch screens of mobile devices and car computers, conductive adhesives for electronics, and various sensor devices requiring extremely precise detection of current—all of these and many more use copper nanowires to great effect.
  • Anti-microbial applications. Due to the inherent anti-microbial properties of copper, copper nanowires make an excellent tool for purification in a wide variety of medical and industrial contexts. Copper nanowires have been utilized to great effect in food and drink manufacturing, bandages, air and water purification, and similar roles. New research into the medical potential of copper and other materials in nanowire and nanopowder forms has exploded in recent years.
  • Thermal applications. The thermal traits of copper nanowires makes it a material useful in conductive adhesives, thermal pastes, and thermally resistant polymers.
  • Chemical applications. Copper nanowires see regular usage as chemical catalysts, in the manufacture of certain polymers, and for a variety of other uses.
